Ekiga 4.0 aka “The Victory Release” Finally Available!

The legendary GNU/Linux softphone is back for more!

Three years after the 3.2 release, Ekiga 4.0 aka “The Victory Release” is finally available.

This is a major release with many major improvements.

    Great, this is a major step forward for the community to have a fully functional VOIP Client. Win and Arm too!

    Thanks! It is awesome to see that ekiga is alive an kicking. ‘been following the development for many years now, and it is nice to find out that the project is catching up with the times.

    New version of ekiga not work with account. Tested on Debian 7 GNU/Linux and on Windows 7.

    Is there any usable PPA for Ubuntu Precise ? Or could I use the Debian Apt repo ? (I’m asking before testing).

    ekiga 4.0.0 is in latest ubuntu, cf. I am not aware of any other ekiga PPA in ubuntu. So the only solution is to install it yourself, cf., it should work without problems.

    Does Ekiga have function to set appropriate dscp values to provide QoS? I haven’t found this in Google.
